Reading
This month, I finally got back into reading. In March, I finished three books: All Systems Red by Martha Wells, The Third Gilmore Girl: A Memoir by Kelly Bishop, and Hungerstone by Kat Dunn.
All Systems Red, the first book in the Murderbot novella series, was recommended to me by someone in a big server chat. At first, I wasn’t sure about it… It was only about 150 pages, so I figured I might as well just keep going. As it got closer and closer to the end, I found myself having a harder and harder time putting it town. I ended up really enjoying it!
The Third Gilmore Girl was SUCH a fast read. I enjoyed it so so much. Kelly Bishop wrote in such a way that it felt like she was sitting across from you telling you each story. It was so easy to read, with such an entertaining narrative. I ended up reading this in about two or three days… Literally could not put it down!
Hungerstone is a book I read for my annotated book club. (Basically, we each picked a book from our personal collection, and we pass it along to someone else, then to someone else… all while annotating the inside. It’s really fun!) It isn’t a book I would have probably picked out for myself. It started off a little slow, but oh my goodness. Once it picked up, it picked the heck up. I had started this in January and hadn’t touched it since… and plowed through 64% of the book in just a couple of days. This was another one I could hardly put down.

Eating
This month, I’ve been focusing on filling myself with really good food. Things that are delicious, but are also good for me. I’m usually pretty good at this, but winter blues and being busy, I found myself really slacking. I always feel much better when I eat better.
I tried this one pot pasta recipe earlier this week and LOVED it. It was so good I never ended up taking a photo… Just scarfed it right up.
I’ve also been enjoying meals with others—from brunch with a friend, to celebratory dinners with family. Eating delicious meals with people you love is truly one of the best parts of being alive :)

Photos
HERE WE GO YOU GUYS!! Here are the final two photos to complete my 365. I can’t believe I’m saying that. I finished it!! WOOOOO!!!

I am still working on putting my book together… Getting a book to include every image would be a bit pricey, so I think it’s going to be more of a “greatest hits of the 365” kind of thing.
I also think I’m going to use Printique—it sounded like it had really great reviews, and they have some very nice budget-friendly options. I’ll keep you posted on the process and how it turns out!
Observing
This month, I noticed I’ve been keeping my eyes to the sky again. I’ve been looking at the moon a lot. I really enjoy when it’s behind a thin veil of clouds, almost like it’s wearing a curtain of lace… Very whimsical and mysterious.
I’ve been eagerly awaiting buds to form on nature all around, but we just got an ice storm, so I have a feeling it’ll be a little while before that happens.
I also watched the Artemis II launch yesterday and was so excited I almost burst into tears. A moon expedition is so thrilling!!

Reflecting
My goal for the next month is to find magic in the mundane; to enjoy the present, and to find beauty in the everyday. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it isn’t. This past month, life has just been a bit weird and weather has kept me at home, so I feel like I’ve been tuned out of that, in a way. Time to get back to it!
Tuning into
This month, I watched two movies:
Phantom Thread (2017) - This was quite a movie. The soundtrack, costumes, atmosphere… all completely unmatched, and I found myself so immersed in the world they were in. The plot was okay; I found myself wishing it would have gone a little differently, but I’ve seen many worse movies. This was a solid three-star movie to me.
Smokey and the Bandit (1977) - This movie was recommended to me last month. I didn’t know anything about it other than the main stars of the movie, so I went in pretty blindly. It wasn’t something I would have ever reached for myself, but WOW! This was a fun time. It’s one of those movies to watch when you want a little escape from the real world, and to get plenty of laughs. 3/5 movie, 5/5 experience.
